I studied Modern History in India, completing a PhD on the changing nature of African-American struggle for equality in the twentieth century. In the U.K., I have worked as a freelance editor. I am keen, and in a position, now to return to historical research. To this end, I have become involved with several community history projects, carrying out a variety of jobs as part of a team; these included data collection, transcription and preparation of a booklet and display boards for the local library. I am currently developing an independent research project, using the life-history method. My aim is to explore the 'push-and-pull' mechanism in the process of cultural adjustment amongst Indian immigrants before and after the establishment of Multiculturalism in the public sphere.
