This session introduces you to the eXtensible markup language (XML) and the Guidelines of the Text Encoding Initiative (TEI).

You have learned about basic encoding through Markdown. Now in this video lecture, we will turn our attention to semantic/descriptive markup in XML, and then conclude by examining the TEI implementation for encoding scholarly texts.
