4.4 Discussion: Planning your public engagement activities

Again, I can’t be certain as to what you chose for the format of your activity, but I hope this was a useful exercise to help you to think about how what you’ve learned can be applied to your own work.

If you have time, you could also go on to think about how you might adapt your activity depending on your budget. Is it possible to carry out your plan with less than the £500 I suggested? Or if you had a much larger budget available, are there ways in which you could expand your ideas to reach more people, or to foster deeper and more sustained engagement with your research?

When planning public engagement activities in future, you may find it helpful to return to the questions listed in Section 4.2 above as a way of thinking through key elements of any proposed projects.
