Intute Arts and Humanities Hub
Intute closed in July 2011. However, this site, which will be maintained until 2014, is one of the most useful for all areas of research in the Humanities. It contains links to sites within all subject areas of the Humanities (simply click on Italian Studies in this case) and you will be offered routes to projects/organizations, primary sources, research-related sites, secondary sources, teaching and learning related sites and also bibliographical sources.
Realized in collaboration with the Department of Italian Studies of the University of Bologna, it includes numerous links to virtual archives, digital texts and a special section on IT in the Humanities.
University Council of Modern Languages
UCML represents the views and opinions of scholars and professionals in modern languages to Government, the funding councils and other bodies at national level; it collects and disseminates information about the state of study, research and teaching of modern languages in the United Kingdom; it provides a forum for debate on issues of concern to its members through meetings, working parties, discussions, conferences, seminars and publications.
Arts and Humanities Research Council
Established in April 2005, the AHRC is a non-Departmental public body. The AHRC evolved from the Arts and Humanities Research Board, which was founded in 1998. It promotes and supports the production of world-class research in the arts and humanities and postgraduate training designed to equip graduates for research or other professional careers. It funds researches in all the subjects related to the Humanities.
The British Academy Portal
This is the British Academy's directory of online resources in the humanities and social sciences. It is designed as an entry point to resources available for those working in higher education and research, including the domain of modern languages amongst many other subjects.
This is an extensive online guide to children's books, periodicals, libraries, and bookshops.
Festina Lente ItaliAntiquariaat
This is an excellent site based in the Netherlands, selling antiquarian and rare, often out of print, books.
This site finds used books, old, and out of print editions all over the world, compares prices and picks the best offer.
This is another great site for antiquarian books based in Italy.
