Launched by the Spanish Ministry of Culture, this Internet-based portal permits simple and complex keyword searching of archives in Spain, and in many cases provides digital document retrieval. It links to 19 million images and ca 1.7 million documents and manuscripts.

Spain's Biblioteca Nacional's virtual library contains digital versions of some of the library's holdings. Researchers might find its Hemeroteca Digital, which allows access to hundreds of historical Spanish newspapers and periodicals, particularly useful.
