The Oxford University Standard for the Citation of Legal Authorities (OSCOLA) is a method for referencing cases, legislation and other legal and general materials in your written work. This tutorial guides you through OSCOLA.

- To introduce and explore OSCOLA, the Oxford University Standard for the Citation of Legal Authorities.
- To understand why it is necessary to cite other people’s work accurately and correctly in your own written work.
- To examine a number of full citations for cases and legislation.
- To become familiar with the citation rules for various types of sources of UK and EU Law.
- To become familiar with the citation rules for secondary sources, and learn how to apply them to different types of resources.

- Know the dangers of plagiarism and how to avoid them.
- Be able to identify citations to case reports, acts of parliament, and statutory instruments.
- Be able to compile correct and accurate citations, using OSCOLA.
